Beernews.se caught up with BRUS head-brewer Cosimo Sorrentino and To Øl’s Linda Skogholt to see what they were up to in Sweden. It’s a great article, which you can read in the original Swedish in the link provided, otherwise feel free to read the English translation below!
‘The Danish brewery had held a tap-takeover at Omnipollo in Gothenburg recently and, in the same exciting trip, stopped by Stigberget’s to get busy brewing a beer together. The brewery at the Maritime Museum is increasingly taking part in more and more collabs of late:
“There have been more collaborations, but we have also brewed some beers that go to Systembolaget,” says Lucas Monryd at Stigbergets. Now it was To Øl’s turn to get brewing: they decided upon a a slightly stronger Berliner Weisse, made with dragon fruit.
‘It’ll be fun and it’s fun to have them here. We will also go down to them and brew later in the spring’ says Monryd.
On site from To Øl was Linda Merete Skogholt and Cosimo Sorrentino. Sorrentino moved to Copenhagen from San Diego just under two years ago.
‘I wanted to take the opportunity to see something else and enjoy it well. I like Copenhagen, but this is the first time I’m so far up in Sweden. I’ve only been to Helsingborg before, he says’
Like so many others, he started out as a home brewer, but then got the chance to brew beer both at Monkey Paw and South Park before he moved across the Atlantic.
‘It feels exciting to brew this type of beer. We do similar things at the brew-pub, Brus, too. Which may be around ten percent of our production’ he says.
